Owners, shares and the right bill
Horse ownership and syndicate billing, with the right people on each invoice.
A horse can have several owners, while a syndicate may be the stable’s billing customer. Tockly Equine keeps those relationships clear and supports different billing arrangements for the people involved.
For co-owned horses, training and racing stables, sport-horse partnerships and syndicate managers who need clear ownership records and horse accounts.

Bill the responsible syndicate when that is the customer.
A stable can nominate the responsible syndicate as the horse’s billing customer. The horse charges then join that customer’s monthly draft, with member shares and allocations kept internally.
Supported accounting exports use the stable’s invoice to the syndicate. This arrangement does not create a separate invoice for every member. Keep horse-update recipients separate so members can follow progress without receiving the stable’s invoice.
See the stable invoicing workflow →Use Syndicator Hub for member bills and horse accounts.
Syndicator Hub has its own subscription. It provides member updates, share-sale and monthly member invoices, payments and credits, horse cash accounts and personalised PDF statements. Review and send the bills yourself; ownership shares do not automatically create member invoices.
Record prize money and costs manually, keep expected receipts separate from money received and view balances by currency. An invoice for a share sale does not itself transfer ownership or update the recorded percentage sold.
Hub member invoices stay in Tockly. The accounting connections in full Equine can export the stable’s invoice to its responsible syndicate; they do not export the Hub’s member invoices.
Enter race or sport-horse winnings manually, with the event date, gross prize money, deductions and net receipt. Review each member’s allocation using ownership on the event date before confirming. Allocate an existing prize receipt without recording the income twice. Member statements show allocated prizes, recorded payouts and funds held.
Record a full member payout already made, with its date and reference. Funds can remain held in the horse account. Partial payouts and applying held funds to invoices are not included. Recording a payout does not transfer money. Racing and competition websites are not synchronised.

Members can open private links to the horses and invoices they are permitted to see without creating an account. Review the recipients before publishing an update or sending personalised statements.
Horse-account PDFs show recorded cash activity and outstanding amounts for a selected period and currency. These are operational cash statements, based on the records entered in the Hub.

Two owners sharing one horse’s charges
Illustrative full Equine owner-billing example: NZ$1,160 of charges before tax, with the same 60% and 40% shares applying throughout the service period.
| Owner | Share | Before-tax allocation |
|---|---|---|
| Owner A | 60% | NZ$696 |
| Owner B | 40% | NZ$464 |
| Allocated total | NZ$1,160 | |
This illustrates owner-share billing in full Equine. Syndicator Hub member bills are entered and reviewed separately. Each invoice applies its configured tax treatment and rounding.
Common questions
Your questions, answered.
Can the stable invoice the syndicate instead of every member?
Yes. Select the responsible syndicate as the horse’s billing customer. Member shares and allocations remain internal while the stable invoices the syndicate.
Are ownership and invoice recipients the same thing?
They are managed separately. Record ownership shares, choose the billing customer and review the permitted recipients for invoices and horse updates.
Does Syndicator Hub automatically bill every shareholder?
No. Prepare and review share-sale or monthly member invoices, then confirm and send them. Recording an ownership percentage does not automatically issue a bill.
Does a paid share-sale invoice change ownership?
No. The invoice, recorded ownership and percentage sold are separate records. Review and update the ownership information when a transfer takes effect.
